*CLOSED* Lilla Rose Flexi Clip Review and Giveaway!

Posted on

It’s AMAZING!!

So, I have REALLY thick hair.  All of these hair “devices” that says it can work on any hair type…LIES!!  My hair WILL fall out of it or break it!  It’s always the case that my hair is too heavy for it or my hair is so thick that it snaps, crackles, and pops many hair tools.

The Lilla Rose Flexi Clip is different in the respect that you actually order the size appropriate for your hair!  Genius people!  So if you have that really fine hair that can’t even hold a barrette in it because it slips out, this will work for you!!  If you have crazy thick/long hair like I do, this will work for you!!!

They even have a video for you so that you can figure out what size would work for you!!!

I think that this item will be absolutely perfect for your wedding!!

Why?

Because you are going to have MANY events coming up!  From Engagement Parties to Bridal Shower to Rehearsal Dinner to your Big Day!!!  It would be really expensive to have your hair professionally done for each of these events, but there is no need to with such an amazing hair tool!

The Flexi Clip is an absolutely great way to wear a sophisticated style on any of those days.  As well as a great option to wear your hair to work, cleaning house, grocery shopping, hanging out with the girls, etc.!!

Personally, I’ve worn my Flexi Clip to work and my coworkers love it!  It gives me a much more finished and sophisticated look than the normal ponytail I wear.  I’ve also worn it to a football game (the fiance is a coach), and the wives absolutely loved it!   I was so excited to tell them how EASY it was to put in my hair!!

My favorite way to wear the Flexi Clip is in the up-do style.  It’s never been an option for me to have my hair in that style because it is so thick and I just can’t get enough of it now.

Lilla Rose doesn’t stop at the Flexi Clip though, they also have gorgeous bobby pins, hair bands, hair sticks, and O-rings!

Upcycling Wedding Items

Posted on

A wedding is one day, one VERY SPECIAL day, but one day.

Many of the items that we have been purchasing as far as decor are items that can be used again and again.  This is because I am being budget friendly as well as trying to decrease our environmental impact from that day.  The candlestick holders are one thing that I won’t be able to use THAT many of (~60), but I definitely plan on selling these after the wedding.

As for the flowers, we aren’t having that many (you can see our flower plan here).

The mirrors  that are going under the candlesticks and votive candles, we definitely plan on using for home decor after.  We got 1 pack of the the beveled edge 12×12 mirror tiles from Home Depot (pack of 6 for $19.99).  Then we got 3 packs of the plain edge 12×12 mirror tiles (pack of 6 for $9.99).  We are going to use the beveled edge mirrors for Family and Wedding Party and the plain edge for everyone else.  We saved $30 by doing this, while still allowing us to have the more formal and tailored ones for our families.

As for the votive candles and candlesticks, burnt orange, pretty perfect for Thanksgivings for the rest of our lives!

Speaking of selling the candlestick holders, I’m actually buying votive candle holders and table number frames from one of my sister’s friends.  She recently got married, about 2 weeks again (Congrats y’all!), and was looking to sell her massive amount of votive candle holders (~90) and 18 table number frames.  We will need more, but she bought these items at IKEA and we will easily be able to go and get some more.  Not only are we getting a great price for these, but she is getting to get some money back that she spent on the wedding AND even better, they aren’t ending up in a dumpster.  I’m SO excited to be doing something that is budget friendly for BOTH of us and the environment!

These are the table number frames and they are usually $0.99 a piece and we are buying them from her for $10 for all 18.

And these are the votive candle holders and I’m not sure on the exact price but I’m sure they will be less than the $1.49 for a set of 4 that you can buy at IKEA.

So, that is our table decor!

Pretty excited!!

Dollar Tree Bride Strikes Again!!!

Posted on

So, why stop at the wedding favors for Dollar Tree?

Being on a budget, I wanted to double duty the flowers.  We are going to have a Sweetheart Table and my bouquet is going to be the centerpiece for our table.  Well, since we are doing a Sweetheart Table…what about the Bridesmaid bouquets?  Yep, they will also be able to be used.  So, I bought these vases at Dollar Tree so that not only will it hold the bouquets but then the girls take them home afterward!  A little mini gift for them (one of many) and a centerpiece?  Yes, Please!!

To give y’all some background, the bridal party will be split between two tables.  One table will have my 3 bridesmaids, and the other table will have my 2 matrons-of-honor (sisters) with my parents.  So, now that we are going to have 3 out of the 20 tables have flowers (opposed to our candle centerpieces), I thought it would be nice to have the groomsmen and my future in-laws to also have floral centerpieces.  I figured the cost of two more floral centerpieces is well worth it to set apart the wedding party and parents.

It’s not going to stop there though.  For the church we will have pew bows alternating between burnt orange and chocolate brown.  The centerpieces for the groomsmen and future in-law tables will also be used at the church for the 2 front rows, one on each side.  These will be the reserved seats for the Wedding Party.  We will then take the flowers over to the venue and use as centerpieces.

Genius? No.

Budget Friendly and Efficient use of resources? Yes!

Dollar Tree Bride

Posted on

Well, it’s official.  I’m now shopping at Dollar Tree for wedding stuff.  Not that there is anything wrong with this, I just never thought I would do it.

Let me tell you how it came to this point.  As y’all know, we are trying to cut back on the budget.  The first thing people will tell you when cutting back on the budget is to cut the guest list.  Check!  Step 2, is often suggested as cut the favors.  I just didn’t feel right cutting the favors.  What I do feel right about is giving out less expensive favors.  So, that’s where Dollar Tree comes in.

I searched and searched for inexpensive favors.  I wanted something that was either very neutral or disposable.  I’m not a fan of giving the tiny picture frame with the picture of the couple in it that will end up in 90% of your guests garage sale 2 years down the road.

What have I decided on?

These, Bride & Groom Wedding Favor Boxes.   For me, I’ve never been to a wedding with these so hopefully they will be a non-repeat favor for many of my guests.

The cost?

10 for $1!!!

Yes!!!

So, we went out to our local Dollar Tree and bought 11 packs of each (11 packs of brides and 11 packs of grooms)…$22!!!  The best part is you can fill these with whatever candy you would like!

Personally, I think we are going to do the personalized Hershey Hugs for them but I’m sure that will come in a post to follow about the specifics.  I’m just thrilled that we found favors.  Something disposable and that won’t break the bank!!

How Much Will Your Wedding Cost?

Posted on

Wow!  I came across this link from businesscreditcards.com and it makes me so nervous!!

The Business of Getting Hitched
Via: Business Credit Cards Guide

We have FULL intention to stay UNDER the Average $26,984, but the sad thing is that none of the prices look outrageous!  I mean, we ARE spending less in a few of the categories but we are hoping to be about $10,000 less than the “National Average”.  Also, how many guests do they have?  Is it a small, intimate event or a large, 250-person event?  This is where I get nervous.

Then…they give a wedding “TIP”, “Eloping saves money that could be put toward a house”.  Sad that THAT is our “TIP”. (Although I’ve DEFINITELY considered it…Sad but true.)

For our wedding I have been doing a lot of DIY projects and also entering into contests on various blogs to help with the smaller things.  I guess this is my “TIP” to brides.  Nothing that’s going to drop your “Average Cost” by $10,000 but it’s something.

So, How Much Will YOUR Wedding Cost You?
